Here are five things to know:
1. CIPA ACO is a new Medicare Shared Savings Program for Michigan- and Ohio-based physicians.
2. The ACO will apply to participate in the Medicare Shared Savings Program, effective Jan. 1, 2017.
3. Healthcare consulting company Medical Advantage Group manages CIPA, and will offer administrative, clinical and technical support to CIPA ACO members.
4. ACO members will leverage Medical Advantage Group’s experience in population health management systems, practice transformation, clinical quality measures and regulatory issues.
5. The Consortium of Independent Physician Association is a regional physician network of 1,200 physicians.
“To be successful in the current healthcare market, physicians need to be open to change,” said Robert Jackson, MD, CIPA medical director. “That is, to embrace and implement clinical integration, population health management and aligned reimbursement models as available within an ACO.”
