The Doctors Company introduces new subsidiary for professional liability coverage — 4 notes

The Doctors Company, a Napa, Calif.-based physician-owned medical malpractice insurer, established a new excess and surplus lines subsidiary called TDC Specialty Underwriters.

Here are four notes:

 

1. Hartford, Conn.-based TDC Specialty Underwriters will help The Doctors Company expand its offering to more healthcare industry insurance buyers.

 

2. TDC Specialty Underwriters offers professional and management liability coverage to healthcare organizations, including the following:

 

• Medical professional liability coverage for hospitals, non-hospital medical facilities and long-term care facilities
• Errors and omissions coverage for managed care organizations
• Products/completed operations and clinical trials coverage for life sciences companies
• Management liability coverage for various healthcare entities

 

3. TDC Specialty Underwriters plans to expand its product offering in 2017.

 

4. The coverages are offered in more than 40 states through TDC Specialty Insurance Company for non-admitted businesses and Underwriters for the Professions for admitted businesses.
