Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Thomas Cha of Massachusetts General Hospital

Thomas D. Cha, MD, MBA is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon serving patients in Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital’s Spine Center. He is also an orthopedic surgery instructor at Boston-based Harvard Medical School.

Specializing in treating cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal disorders, Dr. Cha performs minimally invasive and motion-sparing surgical approaches.

 

Dr. Cha’s research focuses on the biological and biomechanical features of spinal disorders and treatments. Spine and Arthritis and Arthroplasty: The Spine have published his research, among other publications.

 

Dr. Cha earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He also obtained his master of business administration degree from Drexel University’s Bennett S. LeBow College of Business. Dr. Cha went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at New York City-based Columbia University Medical Center and his spine surgery fellowship at Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center.
