MedStar Health names Dr. Zeena Dorai chief of neurosurgery at 2 Baltimore hospitals — 5 highlights

Baltimore-based MedStar Health appointed Zeena Dorai, MD, the new chief of neurosurgery at MedStar Union Memorial and MedStar Good Samaritan hospitals, both in Baltimore.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. Dr. Dorai is a board-certified neurosurgeon, specializing in treating degenerative cervical and lumbar spine diseases as well as brain conditions.

 

2. She has published research on spine reconstruction, brain tumors and cerebrovascular surgery.

 

3. A member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Dr. Dorai is also affiliated with the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.

 

4. Dr. Dorai earned her medical degree from Philadelphia-based Jefferson Medical College, and completed her general surgery internship at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.

 

5. She completed her neurosurgical oncology fellowship at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
