Here are five highlights:
1. Neurosurgery students and biomedical engineering students collaborate in the center to develop biomedical tools, algorithms and imaging systems to enhance surgery.
2. The center hopes to improve surgery and imaging science.
3. Biomedical engineering professor Jeff Siewerdsen, PhD, and neurosurgery professor Jean-Paul Wolinsky, MD, co-direct the center.
4. The center will welcome new faculty research soon, including projects focused on biophotonics, ultrasound imaging and high-resolution bone health imaging.
5. The Carnegie Center for Surgical Innovation is housed in a previous postoperative recovery room in the Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Carnegie Building.
