Dr. M. Alison Brooks wins ACSM- AMSSM sports medicine research grant: 3 notes

M. Alison Brooks, MD, MPH, and co-investigator David Bell, PhD, ATC, received the American College of Sports Medicine Foundation-American Medical Society for Sports Medicine Foundation Clinical Research Grant.

Here are three notes:

 

1. Dr. Brooks is an assistant professor of orthopedics in the sports medicine division at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health. She is also a team physician for UW Athletics.

 

2. She received the grant for her proposed research titled, “Parent-Athlete Knowledge of Sport Volume Recommendations, Attitudes and Beliefs Towards Sport Specialization.”

 

3. The grant is a collaborative project between the American College of Sports Medicine and American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. It totals $20,000.
