UGA Athletic Association selects Athens Regional as medical provider — 3 notes

The University of Georgia Athletic Association has chosen Athens (Ga.) Regional Medical Center as the association’s new healthcare provider, according to the Athens-Banner Herald.

Here are three notes:

 

1. The selection will go into effect on July 1.

 

2. Since 1999, Athens-based St. Mary’s Health Care has served as UGA’s Athletic Association primary provider.

 

3. UGA currently has more than 600 student-athletes competing in 21 varsity sports.
