In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Khabie developed the Victory Knee Brace, a patented knee brace with neoprene support. He has also written a sports medicine column for The Patent Trader, a New York newspaper. He is often called upon for his expertise by national news forums such as NBC. Dr. Stanford has also commented on scientists using Wnt proteins to enhance healing possibilities in bone fractures in a HealthDay News report.
“A lot of the surgeries we do rely on bone growth and bone healing, and a lot of the failures of surgery have to do with the fact that bone never heals or the fusion never takes,” Dr. Khabie said in the report.
Dr. Khabie is currently a ringside physician for the New York State Athletic Commission and a team physician for Pace University Athletic Department, as well as other local high school and college athletes. He has also worked with the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers and the University of Southern California football and basketball teams.
During his career, Dr. Khabie has published articles in several medical journals and made presentations to local and national organizations. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Khabie earned his medical degree from Harvard University School of Medicine in Boston and completed his residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute in New York City. He also completed a fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
