Providence (Ore.) Seaside Hospital welcomed a new orthopedic surgeon, according to The Daily Astorian.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Brook Benze, MD, is board certified in orthopedic surgery.

 

2. He specializes in knee, hip and shoulder joints as well as sports medicine.

 

3. Dr. Benze obtained his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.

 

4. He completed an internship at Maricopa County Medical Center in Phoenix.

 

5. Dr. Benze has served as a visiting surgeon with Providence Seaside for more than 20 years.
