Dr. Higgins earned his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and completed his residency at Peninsula Hospital in Far Rockaway, N.Y. He also completed a fellowship in spine surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City.
Dr. Higgins’ current practice includes non-operative and operative treatments of general orthopedic conditions as well as spinal diseases. During his practice in Oneonta, N.Y., Dr. Higgins helped develop a four-week spine rehabilitation program that enabled many patients to return to their daily activities expeditiously. Recently, Dr. Higgins attended a cadaveric course for shoulder replacements conducted by the DePuy Synthes Institute in Tampa, Fla.
