Blue Cross and Blue Shield designated Midland-based MidMichigan Medical Center a Blue Distinction Center+ for spine surgery as well as knee and hip replacement surgery, according to Midland Daily News.

1. The Blue Distinction Centers for Specialty Care program awards medical organizations that meet patient safety and cost efficiency measures.

 

2. MidMichigan offers minimally invasive spine procedures like kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty and microdiscectomy.

 

3. The center also offers multi-level decompressive lumbar laminectomy, decompressive cervical laminectomy and multi-level fusions.

 

4. MidMichigan orthopedic surgeons perform total knee replacements, unicompartmental knee replacements, total hip replacements and hip resurfacing procedures.
