Dr. Fehring earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completed his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. He also completed a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Fehring is the author of 106 peer-reviewed publications, including a study highlighting the failure rate of irrigation debridement for periprosthetic infection.
Recently, Dr. Fehring was awarded a $500,000 grant by The Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation for research on hip and knee arthroplasty infection prevention.
