Centers for Special Surgery is now offering patients spinal procedures at its ambulatory surgery center in Essex County, N.J.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. The ASC is a joint venture between Quantum International Income and New York City Surgical Associates.

 

2. Arien Smith, MD, has performed four spinal procedures at the center.

 

3. Dr. Smith is the director of neurology and spine surgery at NYCSA.

 

4. Specializing in adult and pediatric spinal disorders, Dr. Smith has experience in pediatric deformity and scoliosis surgery.

 

5. Dr. Smith completed his fellowship at the Spine Institute of New York.
