Maine Coast, Blue Hill hospitals collaborate to offer orthopedic services: 3 notes

Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth and Blue Hill (Maine) Memorial Hospital are collaborating to provide more coordinated orthopedic surgery services, according to an Ellsworth American report.

1. Orthopedic physician departures from both hospitals led to the discussion of a collaboration.

 

2. As a result of the new partnership patients will have access to more comprehensive orthopedic services and will not have to travel far to get the care they need, according to Maine Coast hospital officials.

 

3. Maine Coast and Blue Hill hospitals are also revamping their total joint replacement programs and adding surgeons specializing in joint replacement.
