10 New Spine Practices and Centers

Here are 10 new spine surgery programs established by hospitals or private practices.

Advanced Spine Surgery Center (Union, N.J.).
Spine Centers of America recently opened the Advanced Spine Surgery Center. The facility has three Class C operating suits featuring equipment for endoscopic spine surgery. The 10,000-square-foot pre-op and post-op areas will be staffed by orthopedic spine surgeons, anesthesiologists, pain management physicians and nursing staff.

Chapman Medical Center Neuroscience and Spine Center (Orange, Calif.). The team of surgeons at Southern California Center for Neuroscience and Spine are trained in minimally invasive techniques for spinal and cranial surgery, according to the center’s web site.

Comprehensive Spine Clinic, Kettering Sports Medicine Center (Kettering, Ohio). The Comprehensive Spine Clinic is home to several physicians and physical therapists and works in conjunction with Kettering and Sycamore Medical Center’s orthopedic and neurosurgeons. The facility offers diagnositic services for back pain disorders.

Immanuel Medical Center Back & Spine Institute (Omaha, Neb.). Alegent Health recently opened a new back and spine institute. The institute includes O-arm technology, which gives surgeons real-time images during surgery. The facility also offers nonsurgical treatment options such as acupuncture and physical therapy.

Laser Spine Institute Consulting Facility (Oklahoma City, Okla.).
The new Laser Spine Institute opened a consulting location in Oklahoma City led by G. David Casper, MD. Dr. Casper will consult with prospective patients to determine whether they are good candidates for endoscopic spine surgery.

Martin Memorial Medical Center Back and Spine Center (Stuart, Fla.). Three neurosurgeons, a physical therapist and clinical support staff work with patients at the center. The center has the capabilities to diagnose and treat patients suffering from back and spine pain using minimally invasive surgical procedures and nonsurgical treatment options.

Norton Neurosciences & Spine Rehabilitation Center (Louisville, Ky.). Norton Healthcare Pavilion opened the Norton Neurosciences & Spine Rehabilitation Center. The new center will provide therapy for patients with movement disorders or other conditions affecting the brain or neurological system. The services will include physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language therapy.

PinnacleHealth Spine Institute (Harrisburg, Pa.).
PinnacleHealth has opened a comprehensive spine institute for assessing and treating neck and back pain. The institute employs orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, pain management specialists, nurses, radiologists and physical therapists.

Southwest Spine & Pain Center (Cedar City, Utah). Valley View Medical Center opened a new location for the Southwest Spine & Pain Center. The center includes spine surgeons and a pain management physician. The services include chronic pain management, behavioral pain therapies, epidural therapies, spinal stimulation and spine surgery.
