The group says a provision to restrict physician-owned hospitals in the current health reform bill in the U.S. House of Representatives is the “first step in Medicare rationing.”

The release says the white paper — “Why America Needs More Physician Hospitals!”— reports that a Consumer Reports study ranks physician hospitals No. 1 in 19 of the 33 states in which they operate and near the top in the other states where they operate.
