Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush Physician Speaks About the National Joint Replacement Registry

Craig Della Valle, MD, a hip and knee replacement reconstruction specialist at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago, was recently featured on the local ABC 7 news channel discussing the national joint registry, according to a practice news release.

He said the registry will be useful in educating patients about how long devices last and their individual risk factors. The registry also has the ability to locate patients and physicians that perform the surgeries for information and tracking the reliability of the implants.

The American Joint Replacement Registry was recently established with the goal of becoming a national registry. Rush University Medical Center in Chicago plans to be one of the 15 hospitals included in the nationwide pilot program.
