Jeffrey R. Dugas, MD, performed shoulder surgery on professional wrestler John Cena, according to a Fox Sports report.

1. Mr. Cena will miss WWE’s Road to WrestleMania due to the injury, which is believed to be a torn labrum.

 

2. Dr. Dugas is a partner at Birmingham, Ala.-based Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center.

 

3. He also he serves on the board of trustees at the American Baseball Foundation and American Sports Medicine Institute.

 

4. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.

 

5. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham.
