Here are four highlights:
1. The simulation’s procedure is knee reconstruction with total joint replacement surgery.
2. This development is in partnership with three University of Montreal orthopedic surgeons; Marc Isler, MD, Vincent Massé, MD, and Véronique Godbout.
3. The simulator, known as the SIM-KTM, will allow orthopedic residents to develop their confidence and basic skills in drilling and sawing bones.
4. The technology will be used by the University of Montreal’s Orthopedic Surgery Training Program at Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital in Quebec.
