Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Fred Sweet of Rockford Spine Center

Fred Sweet, MD, is a spine surgeon and co-founder of the Rockford Spine Center (Ill.).

Dr. Sweet treats patients with a range of conditions, but is known for his expertise in handling the most complex spinal surgeries.

 

Dr. Sweet developed a new surgical technique to treat scoliosis and spinal deformities and currently is one of only a handful of surgeons in the world doing the procedure.

 

Dr. Sweet earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed his fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. He was named as a 2014 Top Doctor in Orthopaedic Spine Surgery and was listed on Becker’s Spine Review’s 240 Spine Surgeons to Know feature.
