Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Richard Rothman of the Rothman Institute

Richard H. Rothman, MD, PhD, is the founder of Rothman Institute in Philadelphia, one of the nation’s largest academic orthopedic department. He also serves as a professor of orthopedic surgery at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, also in Philadelphia.

Dr. Rothman is currently a trustee of Thomas Jefferson University. He is a senior advisor to the Riverside Company. Dr. Rothman has published more than 250 peer-reviewed papers and 14 textbooks in addition to creating the Accolade total hip system.

 

Dr. Rothman is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Arthroplasty.

 

He earned his medical degree from University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
