Dr. Baron Sachs launches medical billing software startup: 5 key notes

Orthopedic surgeon Barton L. Sachs, MD, launched a technology start-up aimed at medical billing software, according to a report from The Post and Courier.

1. Dr. Sachs launched App Squared, a medical billing software for healthcare practices. The start-up joined SC Launch for access to support services and mentoring.

 

2. As an SC Launch participant, App Squared could be eligible for early-stage funding.

 

3. Dr. Sachs is a professor and associate executive medical director at MUSC Health in South Carolina. He has a professional interest in minimally invasive spine surgery and motion preservation technology.

 

4. Dr. Sachs earned his medical degree at State University of New York Updates Medical University Syracuse and completed his fellowship at Twin Cities Scoliosis and Spine Center.

 

5. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Sachs is focused on making improvements in the healthcare system, supervising the merger of the utilization review and case management social work departments and reducing 30-day readmissions by 4 percent.
