Xtant Medical’s Aranax Cervical Plating System successfully used in 1st procedure: 5 key notes

The first surgical procedure of Xtant Medical’s Aranax Cervical Plating System has been successfully completed.

Here are five key notes:

 

1. Marc Letellier, MD, a neurosurgeon with the Mesa, Ariz., Southwest Center for Neurological Surgeons, performed the first ACDF procedure using the Aranax Cervical Plating System.

 

2. The Aranax Cervical Plating System features anterior cervical fixation with an enhanced locking mechanism, low profile plate features and increased screw angulation.

 

3. It is distributed as a single package sterile implant.

 

4. The ACDF procedure was performed at Arizona Ortho Surgical Hospital in Chandler to treat a patient with degenerative disc disease.

 

5. Xtant Medical announced the FDA clearance for the Aranax Cervical Plating System in September 2015.
