Here are four things to know:
1. According to Yizhar Floman, MD, director of the Israel Spine Center at Assuta Hospital, Tel Aviv, and past president of the Israel Spine Society, standard scoliosis surgery is the most invasive procedure in spine.
2. Prof. Floman conducted a study of the ApiFix System that was published in the medical journal Scoliosis.
3. The ApiFix System has been approved for sale in Europe and designed to be a new standard for correcting scoliosis in children and adolescents.
4. The average invasive spine procedure fuses 10 vertebrae together using 20 screws, which can result in significant and permanent loss of spine mobility.
