Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Timothy Witham of John Hopkins Medicine

Timothy Witham, MD, serves as the director of the Johns Hopkins Neurosurgery Spinal Fusion Laboratory and an associate professor of neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery. He is also the director of the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center’s Spine Program and the co-program director of Johns Hopkins neurosurgery residency program.

He specializes in treating degenerative conditions of the cervical and lumbar spine, as well as spinal tumors, spinal trauma and spinal deformity. Dr. Witham is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and North American Society. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

 

After earning his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Dr. Witham completed a residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He completed a neurosurgery fellowship at University Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
