Gov. Pete Ricketts has knee replacement surgery — 3 things to know

Nebraska’s Governor Pete Ricketts (R-Neb.) is heading to Chicago for knee replacement surgery.

Here are three things to know:

 

1. The surgery is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015.

 

2. Gov. Ricketts injured his right knee while playing flag football in the mid-1980s, and has been wearing a knee brace since March 2015.

 

3. Gov. Ricketts’ spokesman, Taylor Gage, said the governor plans to work from home over the holidays while he recovers, and plans to return to his office by the end of the year.
