Here are five key notes:
1. The $5 million expansion project is expected to take eight months to complete.
2. After the expansion, Doctors Hospital will have nine operating rooms. Other updates to the existing operating rooms will be made at the same time.
3. The hospital will now have a fully integrated system combining direct access to X-ray, MRI and CT Scan results. The operating rooms are designed for orthopedics, spine, general surgery and gynecology, among other procedures.
4. The new ORs are a part of a hospitalwide $19 million project with renovations in the in-patient rooms and an emergency department expansion.
5. The expansion is expected to finish in April 2016.
