“I’ve had the pleasure of treating thousands of patients from Muncie and the surrounding area for the past 32 years, as well as being the team doctor for the Ball State University football and basketball teams since 1984,” said Dr. Matchett. “Playing a role in my patients’ recovery by helping them return to healthy, active lifestyles has been a tremendous honor.”
Here are five key notes on Dr. Matchett’s career:
1. His practice focused on diagnosing and treating bone, joint and muscle injuries and conditions.
2. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and Indiana State Medical Association.
3. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Matchett is on the board of directors for the Indiana Orthopaedic Society.
4. Dr. Matchett earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Miami Valley Hospital and Wright State University.
5. Dr. Matchette will officially retire this winter and turn patients over to his subspecialty-trained physicians and surgeons at Central Indiana Orthopedics.
