Mr. Sweeney is a partner with Water Street Healthcare Partners and joined the company’s board of directors as a preferred shareholder designee. His position on the board begins immediately. Former board member, Ned H. Villers, a partner with Walter Street, resigned fron the board due to other commitments.
Mr. Sweeney has experience at Walter Street in building a leading group of companies specialized in designing, manufacturing and distributing a range of diagnostic devices and medical products. He also has experience with companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Kimberly-Clark, Medex and B. Braun.
Mr. McEachin is the former vice president and group CFO of Covidien Surgical Strategies, Covidien’s largest division. Covidien is now part of Medtronic. Mr. McEachin is appointed to the company’s board effective Dec. 3, 2015 and will be eligible for election for a full term at the 2016 annual meeting. He is taking Roy D. Crowninshield’s position on the company’s board after Mr. Crowinshield retires in December.
Mr. McEachin is an executive with four decades of financial leadership across technology-oriented industries. He retired from Covidien in 2012 and previously held executive financial positions at United Technologies and its affiliates Digital Equipment and Xerox. He is a Wadsworth Athenum trustee and on the board of directors for the Connecticut Science Center.
The board of directors will remain nine members.
