Misonix trains 120+ spine surgeons at NASS meeting: 4 takeaways

Misonix, a developer of therapeutic ultrasonic medical devices based in Farmingdale, N.Y., demonstrated its new BoneScalpel MIS Platform at the North American Spine Society meeting in October, training more than 120 spine surgeons.

Here are four takeaways:

 

1. Juan Uribe, MD, Isador Lieberman, MD, Nicholas Renaldo, MD, and Connor Telles, MD, gave hands-on demonstrations and presentations.

 

2. Michael A. McManus Jr., Misonix president and CEO, said the company’s booth traffic increased by more than 230 percent from 2014.

3. The demonstrations zoned in on the BoneScalpel’s bone cutting and removal function, which reduces bone bleeding and spares soft tissues.

 

4. Dr. Telles of Sierra Pacific Orthopaedics in Fresno, Calif., said the BoneScalpel “provides more control than traditional instruments and reduces bone bleeding while protecting natural elements.”
