Here are five takeaways:
1. Spine Wave won the award for its Leva PX Interbody Device, a titanium implant intended to help with insertion and maximum post expansion bone graft capability.
2. The device is designed to be filled with bone graft with up to 68.5 percent of the implant volume available for graft material.
3. Surgeons may also use the non-expandable option of the device, if they want to maximize graft volume in the device.
4. Dennis Crandall, MD, medical director of Sonoran Spine in Phoenix, is a supporter of the device, saying “bone graft can be continuous, front to back, left to right and top to bottom, all connecting through the open design of the expanded cage.”
5. Spine Wave will showcase its Leva Interbody Devices at the North American Spine Society meeting in Chicago.
