University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is sharing patients’ reviews of their physicians, according to The Washington Times.

Here are five points:

 

1. Once a physician has at least 30 completed surveys from patients, the physician’s ratings will be posted online.

 

2. UAMS is the first medical center in Arkansas to post the ratings online, according to the medical center.

 

3. The center aims to help patients make educated decisions about their healthcare.

 

4. Patients receive a survey after seeing a UAMS in an outpatient setting about how their physician communicated, listened and displayed respect toward the patient.

 

5. Unless the comments are libelous, profane or jeopardize patient privacy, all comments will be posted online.
