Saint Louis University’s new graduate program to crunch big data: 4 things to know

The Saint Louis University Center for Health Outcomes Research created a graduate program focused on healthcare data science, according to SLU.edu.

Here are four things to know about the program:

 

1. The healthcare data science program targets working professionals in science, engineering, computing, mathematics, nursing or public health industries.

 

2. Center for Health Outcomes Research faculty members will teach the program.

 

3. The curriculum zones in on administrative claims, pharmacy-dispensed medications, clinical laboratory tests and electronic medical records, among other healthcare data topics.

 

4. Students will develop knowledge in software programming, database management and predicative analytics under the umbrella of healthcare issues, like privacy protection and data use agreements.
