Here are five takeaways:

1. The workshop was called “Ultrasonic BoneScalpel Techniques for Treating the Complex Spine.”

2. Daniel Rosenthal, MD, of Hochtaunusklinik, Bad Homburg, Germany; Martin Wilby, MD, of The Walton Centre, Liverpool, United Kingdom; and Simon Clark, MD, of The Walton Centre, all presented during the workshop.

3. Each of the surgeons shared their experiences with the BoneScalpel device.

4. The presenters drove home the device’s ability to decrease significant blood loss during operations.

5. Misonix president and CEO Michael McManus Jr., believes this workshop will boost international device sales.

“At our hands-on workshop, spine surgeons learned several BoneScalpel techniques and surgical benefits for using the devices in many different spinal procedures such as laminectomy and facetectomy,” said Dr. Rosenthal.
