ACGME endorsees Hoag Orthopedic Institute for accreditation — 3 things to know

Hoag Orthopedic Institute, one of the nation’s largest volume providers of orthopedic care, received accreditation in sports medicine from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

Here are three things to know:

 

1. ACGMA is a private, nonprofit organization that reviews and accredits medical education programs and the institutions that sponsor them.

 

2. Hoag Orthopedic Institute was endorsed through its Orthopedic Education and Research Institute and will provide fellowship education opportunities in sports medicine for physicians who successfully completed an orthopedic residency.

 

3. HOI and OERI were endorsed for accreditation from the ACGME as well as from Loma Linda University. Loma Linda University has more than 650 residents in several specialties and subspecialties.
