1st surgeries with the Conventus PH Cage in the US & Europe are complete — 5 observations

The first surgeries using the Conventus PH Cage have been successfully completed in the United States and Europe.

Here are five observations:

 

1. The cage system, developed by Conventus Orthopaedics, aims to provide robust fixation and prevent further collapse of a shoulder fracture.

 

2. The system uses the shape memory properties of nitinol.

 

3. The first U.S. Conventus PH Cage procedures were performed by Paul D. Paterson, MD, of Excelsior Orthopaedics in Buffalo, N.Y., and Edwin E. Spencer, Jr., MD, of Knoxville (Tenn.) Orthopaedic Clinic.

 

4. The first German Conventus PH Cage procedure was performed by Dr. med. Michael Jonas from Moers, Germany.

 

5. The company is in the process of a measured introduction in the U.S. market.
