Here are five notes:

1. The RESPONSE system has been used by 35 surgeons in 32 children’s hospitals.

2. It is designed to help surgeons in better correcting unique deformities caused by scoliosis in children.

3. The system meets the need of children with low-profile implants that have 5.5 mm to 6 mm diameter rods.

4. The Jiminy Rod Reducer instrument snaps on and off to aid surgeons in performing reduction and de-rotation techniques.

5. The system received 510(k) clearance on June 1st, 2015.

“The RESPONSE Spine System was developed with the pediatric patient in mind by having one of the lowest profile screws, simple Jiminy rod reduction and de-rotation instrumentation, which has allowed me to be more efficient and gain better correction,” said George H. Thompson, MD, professor of orthopedic surgery & pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University and director of pediatric orthopedics at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.
