Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Barth A. Green of University of Miami Health

Barth A. Green, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon. He is a professor and chairman of neurological surgery, professor of neurology, professor of orthopedics and professor of rehabilitation medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

He co-founded “The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis” and Project Medishare for Haiti. Dr. Green also cofounded the University of Miami’s Global Institute for Community Health and Development. He specializes in spinal surgery, spinal cord injury and spinal tumors.

 

Following the Haiti earthquake, Dr. Green treated hundreds of injured Haitians and he and his colleagues initiated a relief effort to airlift volunteer physicians and nurses.

 

Dr. Green received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed a residency at Northwestern University School of Medicine.
