Dr. David Epstein to provide care at US Open: 5 key notes

David M. Epstein, MD, foot and ankle surgeon, agreed to provide orthopedic medical coverage to US Open athletes from Aug. 31 to Sept. 13.

Here are five key notes:

 

1. Dr. Epstein has been a United States Tennis Association consultant for the past four years.

 

2. He will work with five other orthopedic providers during the US Open to ensure constant coverage is available throughout the event.

 

3. Dr. Epstein is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at Tri-County Orthopedics in New Jersey.

 

4. He has worked with professional athletes including the New York Jets and New York Islanders and enjoys sports such as soccer, basketball, tennis and golf.

 

5. In addition to his clinical practice, Mr. Epstein gives presentations and authors articles related to foot and ankle disorders.

 

He earned his medical degree from the Stony Brook University School of Medicine and completed his residency at NYU Hospital for Joint Disease. He completed his fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital and a second fellowship at the Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction.
