Researchers evaluated 101 patients who received single interbody PLIF using the iliac bone graft in 54 patients and the local bone graft in 47 patients. The researchers observed the patients for a minimum of two years and found no significant difference between operation time, blood loss, fusion grade or fusion progress between the two groups.

Researchers concluded that there was no significant difference between the two operations types.
