The medical technology company named James H. Mackaness CFO. He’ll assume the new post on Aug. 24.
Here are five things to know about Mr. Mackaness:
1. He has more than 20 years of experience as a senior financial executive.
2. His previous experience is at public and private Bay Area companies covering financial and strategic planning, public reporting and controls, mergers and acquisitions and operations management within the medical device and technology industries.
3. He was previously the CFO and COO for IRIDEX, a publicly-traded medical device company based in Mountain View, Calif. He also spent time early in his career as an audit manager with Ernst & Young.
4. Mr. Mackaness earned his degree from the University of Warwick in England and is a chartered accountant and member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
5. In his new role, Mr. Mackaness will report to CEO Philip Sawyer.
