The campaign will provide materials for parents, coaches and athletes about reducing preventable injuries such as overuse, dehydration and concussions. The initiative is supported by Johnson & Johnson, who also sponsors Safe Kids Worldwide and Safe Kids USA.
Safe Kids USA has partnered with Nickelodeon cable network and internet service and AOL to deliver public service announcements on sports injury prevention. Over half of the injuries young athletes suffer are preventable, according to the report.
