Japanese medical device company partners with Materialise for hip technology — 5 key notes

Materialise signed a partnership agreement with Japan Medical Dynamic Marketing.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. The partnership is a five-year agreement for Materialise’s total hip replacement guide system.

 

2. Materialise is focused on three-dimensional software and printing solutions for medical image-based guide technology. Japan Medical Dynamic Marketing is a leading company in the Japanese orthopedic industry with 18 sales branches.

 

3. Materialise has more than 25 years of experience in three-dimensional planning and printing for medical applications.

 

4. The company also recently partnered with Consensus Orthopaedics to include the Materialise Acetabular Cup Orientation Hip Guide for better predictability with patient-specific surgical guides.

 

5. Last year, the company reported the first total knee replacement using the Materialise X-ray Knee Guide Solution.

 

“We are very pleased to have the technology of Materialise NV available to Japanese patients and surgeons, and expect this technology will help Japanese surgeons facilitate more appropriate patient matched surgeries to Japanese patients with 3D printed patient-specific guides,” said the president of Japan MDM.
