Dr. Michael R. Marks receives COS Orthopedist of the Year: 6 things to know

Michael R. Marks, MD, MBA, received the Connecticut Orthopaedic Society’s 2015 Orthopedist of the Year award.

Here are six things to know:

 

1. Dr. Marks lead efforts in the state to emphasize bringing orthopedics to the political table.

 

2. Dr. Marks has served as the Society’s president from 2003 to 2005 and as councilor for the AAOS from 2007 to 2014.

 

3. In 2013, Dr. Marks earned the Most Improved Participation Rate award from the AAOS.

 

4. Dr. Marks went to medical school at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, and completed his orthopedic residency there as well.

 

5. He completed a fellowship in spine surgery at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio.

 

6. Currently, Dr. Marks serves as a healthcare consultant.
