National Association of Professional Women honors OrthoKinetics CEO Dr. Lisa Ferrara — 5 key notes

The National Association of Professional Women inducted Lisa Ferrara, PhD, into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle.

Ms. Ferrara is the CEO of OrthoKinetic Technologies/OrthoKinetic Testing Technologies. Here are five things to know:

 

1. Dr. Ferrara has experience in biomedical engineering in academic research and has worked with the FDA and device manufacturers.

 

2. She has spent 26 years in the industry working with surgeons, engineers and scientists on developing technology.

 

3. OrthoKinetic Technologies and OrthoKinetic Testing Technologies work together to make sure clients have the resources they need to meet their goals. The two companies take a new medical device through the necessary steps to bring them to market.

 

4. Dr. Ferrara is a woman working in a male-dominated field, but she says she never felt hindered by that difference. She has mentored spine surgeons, including Hansen Yuan, MD, and shared her knowledge with several other students.

 

5. She also spends time researching and lecturing on bioengineering and biomechanics.
