Medtronic makes $100k American Red Cross donation for Nepal disaster relief: 5 key notes

Medtronic is pledging several thousand dollars to support earthquake relief efforts in Nepal.

Here are five things to know about the donation:

 

1. Medtronic’s most recent donation is for $100,000 to the American Red Cross for relief efforts.

 

2. Medtronic has already given more than $1 million in cash and products to support relief efforts.

 

3. The company gave around $780,000 in medical supplies to AmeriCares, Direct Relief and Project HOPE for treating crush injuries as well as other supplies for use at local hospitals and medical camps.

 

4. Medtronic employees have responded with more than $60,000 in donations for the relief work, and Medtronic Philanthropy plans to match those donations dollar-for-dollar.

 

5. There are 27 Medtronic employees with paid leave registered to volunteer in Nepal, starting in early June as part of the All Hands Volunteers efforts.
