Dr. Rubery’s clinical interests include scoliosis, complex spinal reconstruction, minimally invasive spine surgery and tumors and trauma of the spine. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Rubery’s research interests center on the use of gene transfer to improve cartilage repair, ligament healing and the restoration of various additional tissues, including the tendon and meniscus. His work has been published in prestigious journals, including Spine and Journal of Biomechanics.
Dr. Rubery earned his medical degree at Cornell University Medical College and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. He has also completed a fellowship in spine surgery at URMC with Richard Burton, MD.
