Orthopedic surgeons to know: Dr. Anthony S. Rhorer of Sonoran Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons

Anthony S. Rhorer, MD, is the medical director of orthopedic trauma at Scottsdale Healthcare and founder of Sonoran Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons in Scottsdale. He helped Scottsdale Healthcare become a Level I trauma center and is known for his speaking and teaching engagements.

Dr. Rhorer’s main interests are management of complex fractures of the lower extremity, pelvis and acetabulum. In addition, Dr. Rhorer’s special interests include treatment of nonunion of fractures and he has extensive experience with limb salvage, deformity correction and limb length discrepancy.

 

Dr. Rhorer received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine and also completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Duke. Dr. Rhorer also trained with five highly-recognized orthopedic trauma surgeons during his trauma fellowship at Tampa General Hospital/Florida Orthopaedic Institute.

 

Recently, Dr. Rhorer was announced as the chairman of a course exploring Surgical Approaches for Internal Fixation method.
