Dr. Rahn’s clinical interests include posterior lumbar discectomy, posterior lumbar decompression and anterior cervical decompression and fusion. He also has expertise in motion preservation techniques and laser procedures. He has a professional interest in stem cell research and along with Fort Wayne Orthopedics’ Robert Shugart, MD, Dr. Rahn is researching the effectiveness of injecting mesenchymal precursor stem cells into the center of the target disc for patients with moderate lumbar degenerative disc disease as part of the Mesoblast clinical trial.
Dr. Rahn earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison. He completed his residency at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. He has also completed fellowship training in spine surgery from PSC in Louisville, Ky., and Tulane University in New Orleans.
