Astronaut & orthopedist Dr. Robert Satcher to deliver keynote address at juvenile justice conference

Robert Satcher, Jr., MD, PhD, an astronaut and an orthopedic surgeon, has been selected as the keynote speaker at the 5th Annual Joint Conference on Juvenile Justice, April 11, in Clarksville, according to a Business & Heritage report.

The conference is sponsored by Montgomery County Disproportionate Minority Contact Task Force in partnership with the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth and the MerryInGOD Foundation. Topics of discussion include gang awareness, cyberbullying, bullying and suicide prevention.

 

Dr. Satcher is an assistant professor, orthopedic oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He is also the first orthopedic surgeon to travel to space, according to the report.
